Rather than being seed-grown, these plants are propagated by carefully removing mature segments from healthy mother plants. Each detached segment gradually develops its own root system before continuing to grow independently.

Because every plant roots at a different speed, some specimens will have newly emerging roots while others may already have a well-established root system. Depending on their condition at the time of dispatch, we may ship your plant bare root or in its nursery pot.

Tephrocactus geometricus thrives in bright direct sunlight and requires very little water. Plant into a free-draining cactus mix and always allow the soil to dry completely before watering again.

During winter, keep watering to an absolute minimum as the plant enters its dormant period. Good airflow and excellent drainage are essential to maintaining healthy roots.

With patience, this slow-growing cactus will eventually produce additional spherical segments, becoming an extraordinary collector specimen over time.
